McBride, during an interview with PHNX Cardinals on radio row, affirmed to Cardinals fans that their longing for Garrett in the desert is 'absolutely' justified.\'We have some money, and we need a guy like that, we're desperate for an edge rusher of that caliber, for sure.
Any team that Myles gets on, that team instantly becomes so much better. He brings so much to that defense, he's a game-wrecker,' McBride stated. Garrett formally requested a trade from the Cleveland Browns on February 3rd, but adamantly expressed his desire to compete for Super Bowl championships. For a franchise like Arizona, coming off a lackluster 8-9 season, some might perceive the Cardinals' interest in a player of Garrett's caliber and illustrious resume as premature. The Cardinals aren't currently considered a formidable Super Bowl contender. However, Garrett, who recorded 14 sacks and a career-high 22 tackles for loss in 2024, is a year removed from earning 2023 Defensive Player of the Year honors and boasts six Pro Bowl selections. He's achieved 10 or more sacks in seven of his eight NFL seasons. Zaven Collins led the Cardinals in sack production with a modest five, and Arizona ranked a disappointing 28th in the NFL with a 33% pass rush win rate.
