Nakipagpulong sa Kanyang Kabanalan Francisco ang Kanyang Kabunyian Manila Archbishop Jose Cardinal Advincula nitong Abril 21, 2022.
Ito ang kauna-unahang pagkakataon na pakikipagkita ng arsobispo ng Maynila sa Santo Papa makaraang italagang Kardinal noong Nobyembre 2020, batay sa ulat sa radyo ng Simbahang Katolika.
Hindi ito ang unang pagkakataon na makasalamuha ni Cardinal Re ang arsobispo ng Maynila sapagkat ito ang Prefect ng Congregation for Bishops noong itinalagang obispo si Cardinal Advincula sa San Carlos Negros Occidental noong 2001 sa pamamagitan ni St. Pope John Paul II. Ikinagalak ni Fr. Gaston ang pagbisita ni Cardinal Advincula sa institusyon kung saan naging bahagi rin ito noong mag-aral ng Canon Law sa Roma noong dekada 80 at pinasalamatan ang patuloy na suporta sa pamamagitan ng pagpapadala ng mga paring mag-aaral.
