Lycoming College reveals what its investigation determined.
WILLIAMSPORT – A clogged fresh air intake and not a room air conditioner caused the elevated levels of carbon monoxide that forced the evacuation of aIn a message to the college community Dan Miller, vice president of student life, said it was determined the fresh air intake at Crever Hall was clogged with leaves.
After the furnace and heating system in the three-story building were shut down to conduct an investigation, building and grounds personnel discovered the clogged intake, Miler said. Since the furnace and heating system were restarted, Williamsport firefighters have tested the system and found no issues, he said.Two students who reported feeling ill were taken to health services on campus and then to UPMC Williamsport. They were released the same day.
