There were at least two wrong-way drivers within a five-day span on Gates Mills Boulevard, which has two traffic circles and a grass median.

Mayfield Heights police called for backup on the other end of the street as they tried to stop a wrong-way driver who kept going towards Pepper Pike at 2:30 a.m. Oct. 26. Police later realized this was because the car was stolen, possibly from South Russell Township. Mayfield Heights officers took custody on the stolen 2019 Hyundai as well as fleeing and eluding, but not before Pepper Pike officers charged him on numerous infractions. Damage to the Mayfield Heights cruiser was described as minor.Responding to a report of a possibly impaired driver in a Kia with heavy front-end damage who was first spotted driving the wrong way around Gates Mills Circle in Mayfield Heights around 2 a.m. Oct. 21, with a witness taking down the license plate number.

He also had a child, 9, in the back of the car, leading to the endangerment charge, with a grandmother arriving to pick up the minor at the police station.
