MELAKA: A car salesman faces several charges at the Sessions and Magistrate's Courts in Ayer Keroh here including one for allegedly threatening to kill a policeman.
At the Sessions Court, the accused Voong Thiam Siam, 40, claimed trial before Judge Elesabet Paya Wan to three charges Thursday .
Based on the statement of facts, the accused had allegedly attempted to murder a policeman by recklessly driving a white-coloured Proton Waja police car, which is punishable under Section 307 of the Penal Code.For the second offence, the accused had allegedly used criminal force against a public servant by allegedly attacking a policeman that led to injury of the latter.
Voong had allegedly committed the offence under Section 353 of the Penal Code for use of criminal force on a public servant in the execution of his duty.For the third offence, the accused had allegedly committed an offence under Section 117 of the Criminal Procedure Code and Section 224 of the Penal Code for intentionally resisting or illegally obstructing a lawful apprehension.The accused allegedly committed all three offences at the Health Clinic along Jalan Gereja at 3.30pm on May 4, 2020.
The accused had allegedly committed the first offence under Section 379A for stealing a white-coloured Proton Waja police car.The accused faced the other charge under Section 425 and Section 427 of the Penal Code for mischief by causing damage to government property.The accused had allegedly committed the offence at the same Health Clinic at 3.40pm on May 4, 2020.The accused was unrepresented at both the courts.
