PETALING JAYA: Three motorcyclists were killed while three others suffered serious injuries after a driver, believed to be intoxicated, rammed his car into them on the North Klang Valley Expressway (NKVE).
Petaling Jaya OCPD Asst Comm Mohamad Fakhrudin Abdul Hamid said the driver of the car lost control of the vehicle at KM19.6 of the NKVE before hitting six motorcyclists, at about 5.59am on Sunday ."Three motorcyclists were killed at the scene while three others have been rushed to Sungai Buloh Hospital for treatment," he said in a statement on Sunday .
The 26-year-old male driver of the car has been detained for investigation under Section 44 of the Road Transport Act 1987, he said."During the incident, he was driving to Cyberjaya from Kuala Lumpur. "We urge those who saw the incident or were at the scene to contact Traffic investigating officer Insp R. Navalan at 014-253 6820 to assist the investigation," he said.
