Two people have been injured
A car has ploughed into a fish and chip shop in Leeds causing extensive damaging and forcing residents to be evacuated from their homes nearby.
A total of 16 residents were evacuated from nine homes in the area as a safety precaution. West Yorkshire Police cordoned off the A65, Greenlea Avenue to Whackhouse Lane in both directions with tape.Officers found a man and a woman in the car with minor injuries. Evacuated residents were able to return to their homes around 2pm the next day.
"The road was closed between Greenlea Avenue and Whackhouse Lane while emergency services dealt with the incident. The two occupants of the vehicle, a male and female, suffered minor injuries as a result of the collision."
