A car and a Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office vehicle heading to a priority call were involved in a crash with injuries on Atlantic Boulevard on Monday morning, police said.
Just before 11:00 a.m., a marked JSO Taurus was driving westbound on Atlantic Blvd, responding to a priority call with emergency equipment activated.
At the same time, a Toyota Corolla was driving northbound on Century 21 Drive, which becomes Acme Street, on the opposite side. The two cars collided in the intersection. JSO said investigators are working to determine who is at fault in the crash based on the status of the lights, as well as the civilian’s responsibility to yield to emergency vehicles.
