The culprits lost control of the stolen vehicle and careered it down an embankment before it exploded into flame
s during the dramatic incident which took place shortly before 9.30pm on Saturday, December 17.
Residents in the immediate vicinity and the surrounding areas were shocked to hear a loud bang, with one witness saying: "It came off the road at Currie Street, rolled down the embankment, crashing into several objects including planted trees and light installations. "Several police entered the scene and cordoned off well past the area the crash occurred in, warding off neighbours and asking people to re-enter their homes."
