A customer drove their car into Sunny Side Family Restaurant, causing damage to the building and injuring a 40-year-old employee. The employee was hospitalized for evaluation, but thankfully the driver was uninjured. Owner Amy Antony said the damage was minimal and the restaurant is expected to reopen soon.

Sunny Side Family restaurant opened its doors to the breakfast rush expecting its usual Wednesday crowd, however, a customer of theirs did not hit the breaks in time. The force of the car caused shelving units to fall on a 40-year-old employee who was working just on the other side."I think she was just in shock when the paramedics got here. She was in the process of having a seizure because she’s known for having seizures," said Lee.

Owner Amy Antony said the damage was minimal, "The restoration team came in, and thankfully it's just a wall that needs to be replaced; no major structural damage." Though the crash was unexpected, it's not the first time the business has dealt with a vehicle entering their property. “We had a car drive wall, last year, but that was DUI related though," Lee said. "That was 2:30 in the morning but thank god nobody was there for that."

Carlisle police said in a statement to CBS21 News, "A male operator collided with the building, causing damage to the structure. An employee inside the diner was injured during the collision and transported to the hospital for evaluation. The male operator was uninjured. This appears to be accidental."
