Captain Brendan ready to get ‘wicked’ in intense derby

PETALING JAYA: Selangor captain Brendan Gan and his teammates are bracing for an intense Klang Valley derby against Kuala Lumpur at the Cheras Football Stadium today.

And it wouldn’t surprise both sides if the game concluded like the dramatic 3-3 draw last season at the same venue.

For Brendan, who just returned from the national camp for Malaysia’s two friendlies against Turkmenistan and Hong Kong, he said “there is no break for the wicked man” to stress how he feels about this derby clash. “I’m sure Herlison wants to get back at us and show KL he’s worth it. Apart from that, this team are not too far off from the one that won the Malaysia Cup and reached the final of the AFC Cup.”
