Sen. Shelley Moore Capito says she's “frustrated” after infrastructure negotiations with the Biden administration fell apart yesterday
Sen. Shelley Moore Capito talks with reporters as she walks to a vote on Capitol Hill. | Alex Brandon/AP PhotoSen. Shelley Moore Capito said Wednesday that she was “frustrated” that the White House “kept moving the goalposts on us” after infrastructure negotiations with the Biden administration fell apart Tuesday.
Capito’s comments Wednesday were more critical than her statement Tuesday after President Joe Biden ended infrastructure negotiations with her. The president is now engaging with a bipartisan group of 20 senators on infrastructure. Capito said she had told Biden’s camp that they could move forward on infrastructure without increasing taxes, but the White House’s final offer included “many taxes.”
Capito also suggested that Biden’s camp speaking with the media about the talks didn’t help with negotiations.
