The Canton Metro Crash Team is investigating a crash that left a pedestrian dead on Monday.
According to a release from the Canton Police Department, at around 11:14 p.m., officers responded to the 2900 block of Market Avenue N for a crash between a car and a pedestrian.
Police said that the car, a 2010 Dodge Journey, was traveling northbound on Market Avenue N in the center lane when it hit a pedestrian who was walking eastbound across the street. The pedestrian, who has not been identified yet pending family notification, was taken to the hospital, where he later died. The Canton Metro Crash Team responded and is investigating the accident.
According to the release, drugs and alcohol are not suspected to be a factor for the driver, and it is unknown at this time if they were a factor for the pedestrian.
