Carroll-Hubbard and Roselius will appear on the ballot for all borough residents in the municipal election on October 1.
FAIRBANKS, Alaska - Loa Carroll-Hubbard and Tamara Kruse Roselius are running for Seat A on the School Board .
She wants to get back to the basics in education, including academics and student achievement. “I think that the community has finally recognized that we have schools that are not full, and so by consolidating schools, we can utilize our resources better. We can take those finances, and we can repurpose that money and we can help classrooms.”
Roselius, meanwhile, says she wants Fairbanks youth to have the same opportunities as her two sons who went through the public school system. “In this climate, that’s really difficult with the deficits we’ve been given from the state, but we have to do the best we can for every student, and when you think about it, I guess the second part to that is that’s why we live here.
