A maths puzzle that asks people to solve a simple sequence has left many scratching their heads - and it turns out the answer is completely different to what you may think

It should be "simple" to solve. However as it turns out, "many people" fail to answer it correctly, reports the Mirror. The puzzle has three seemingly straightforward addition sums, and a fourth one which had not been solved. However, you may notice that the sums don't quite add up to what you think they would.

However, this approach requires additional calculations between the sums, as you need to determine the values of 4 + 7, 5 + 8, 6 + 9, and 7 + 10 before arriving at 8 + 11. If done correctly, the full sum should be 8 + 11 + 77, which equals 96.
