Can NASCAR ever make all of its fans happy at the same time?
In fact, it is such an ancient art that a surprising number of NASCAR fans took to social media and said the sport would just not be the same without the whizzing sound of the pit guns and used lug nuts flying all over the pits that, well, they might just walk away from NASCAR.
NASCAR had earlier announced that the 2021 Daytona 500 would be run on Sunday, Feb. 14 — just a week after the Super Bowl, not two weeks. To steer clear of the Super Bowl and make the program pop, the NASCAR tradition of Speedweeks would need to be condensed into more like one Speedweek. Third topic: the coronavirus. NASCAR issued a statement that read: “The health and safety of our fans, competitors, employees and everyone associated with IMSA, ARCA and NASCAR remains our top priority. We are in regular communication with relevant authorities and will continue to monitor the situation closely.”
