It has often been discussed in this corner how the talent level of the UAAP has gone bananas. The league is insanely loaded, to say the least, and the competitors keep raising the bar.
This can be manifested in the recent PBA 2024 Draft which was better than the last. The PBA draft will just keep getting better, even as some standouts eventually leave for greener pastures outside the country. The question now is whether the talent level of the UAAP has reached a point when they can actually beat PBA teams. The recent hairline win of Rain or Shine over the De La Salle Green Archers at the Kadayawan Festival prompted that question.
Side note: Many players from the Kentucky team failed to live up to their recruitment hype, especially the Harrison twins, Aaron and Andrew. Both were blue chip recruits, tall guards who were even ahead of Devin Booker in the rotation. Yet they did not even make their mark in the NBA. The gap between the NBA and Division 1 is still too wide.
