If you are interested in voting absentee, you first need to apply for an absentee ballot at your county election office. Some reasons to vote absentee include if you’ll be out of your county on May 19, if you have a disability, are in the military or will be working a long shift that would prevent you from going to the polls, which would be open from 7AM until 7PM that day.
If you get an absentee ballot, you would return it, either by mail or in person, along with a photo ID. Your ballot also has to be notarized or witnessed by two adults in order for it to be counted.
