BREAKING: Buckingham Palace has announced that Camilla, the Queen Consort, will wear Queen Mary’s Crown at the coronation rather than a newly commissioned piece for the first time in recent history.
The Queen Consort’s crown for the coronation has been revealed by Buckingham Palace.for the historic event on May 6.
It marks the first time in recent history that an existing crown has been worn rather than a newly commissioned piece – a decision said to be in the interests of sustainability and efficiency.It will be reset with the Cullinan III, IV and V diamonds, which the monarch had in her personal collection and often wore as brooches.
