Cameron Highlands farmers sell veggies to DAP reps
Farmers in Cameron Highlands can’t sell their produce because they can’t transport their goods as a result of the MCO and closure of a major wholesale market in Selangor. – The Malaysian Insight file pic, April 28, 2020.
DAP leaders and elected representatives bought about 150 tonnes of fresh vegetables from Cameron Highlands farmers for distribution to needy families nationwide. Tanah Rata assemblyman Chiong Yoke Kong said the campaign has helped poor families unable to source for food during the movement-control order period, as well as farmers who are stuck with more produce than they can sell because of logistics issues caused by the partial lockdown.
