A Camden County man pleaded guilty to two carjackings in Philadelphia from 2023. Zamer Williams, 19, of Camden pleaded guilty Tuesday to a superseding indictment from April that charged him with two counts of carjacking and one count of brandishing or carrying a weapon in the commission of a crime. At around 9 p.m. on Nov.
11, 2023, an Uber driver at the Ikea on Columbus Boulevard stepped out of his car when Williams and another person approached the driver and demanded the keys to his car at gunpoint. The man handed over his keys and Williams and his accomplice fled the scene in the stolen vehicle. Two days later, Williams was accused of entering a running car at a Wawa on Columbus Boulevard. When the owner of the car saw Williams sitting in the driver’s seat she confronted Williams, who began driving away and dragged the woman for about 10 feet before she let go of the driver’s side door. Williams is scheduled to be sentenced on Mar. 25, 2025 and faces a mandatory minimum sentence of seven years in prison
