Denver Nuggets governor Josh Kroenke speaks with general manager Calvin Booth during the team’s training camp at the UCSD campus in La Jolla, California on Friday, September 30, 2022. LOS ANGELES — Nuggets general manager Calvin Booth appeared on ESPN’s broadcast of the Nuggets-Clippers preseason game Tuesday night and addressed recent comments attributed to him in an article by The Ringer.
In the article published Monday, Booth was quoted in a way that he described Tuesday as “unfair” while explaining his rationale for last season’s trade of Bones Hyland. “I knew you couldn’t have two guys that couldn’t guard, and we couldn’t have two guys that were young and kind of more ‘me guys,’” Booth told The Ringer’s Kevin O’Connor. “Mike makes $30 million. He’s one of the best shooters in the NBA. So, Bones, there’s no place for you.
Booth also stressed that he believes Hyland, now with the Clippers, is “a great kid; has a bright future ahead of him. Charismatic player in our game.” I-25 likely to be closed at least for several days after train derailed north of Pueblo, killing truck driver
