Calumet City authorities say a person has been charged in connection with the shooting death Sunday of a South Holland man.
Calumet City authorities said Monday a suspect has been charged in connection with the shooting death early Sunday morning of a South Holland man.
Jarvis Evans, 34, of the 17200 block of Vollbrecht Road, died shortly after 1 a.m. Sunday at Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, according to the Cook County medical examiner’s office. Evans suffered multiple gunshot wounds and the cause of death was ruled a homicide, according to the medical examiner’s office.
Police said they responded at about 12:30 a.m. Sunday to a report of a gunshot victim in the 1900 bock of Memorial Drive. Responding police performed lifesaving measures on the gunshot victim until paramedics arrived, and the man was taken by ambulance to the hospital, according to a police statement.A 34-year-old man was taken into custody and charged with murder, although information about the suspect was not immediately available.
