A California woman has been arrested after impersonating a nurse and attempting to kidnap a newborn infant from a Riverside County hospital,Police say the incident happened on Thursday morning at the Riverside University Health System Medical Center in Moreno Valley.
"A female entered the hospital posing as a newly hired nurse and gained access to a medical unit where newborn infants were present," the Riverside County Sheriff's Department said in a statement."The female entered a patient's hospital room and identified herself as a nurse. While inside the patient’s room, she attempted to take their newborn infant."
After being confronted by hospital staff, who then notified security, the woman allegedly fled without the infant before being apprehended in her home by law enforcement."Additional items of evidentiary value were also located inside the residence," said police.Miron is currently being held on $1 million bail.
