Rain was falling early Friday morning across the North Bay, spreading southwest across the Bay Area and into the Central Coast. Thunderstorms were possible during the afternoon and evening hours, the weather service said.
There have been at least 18 deaths attributed to the series of storms hitting California since the start of the year.Three people were rescued after the car they were riding in nearly plunged over a steep cliff on a country road in the Santa Cruz Mountains on Friday., California Highway Patrol, Santa Cruz posted photos and a brief description of the rescue by a CHP officer identified only as Officer Murphy.
