Why Did State Farm Pull Out of California?In a March update, State Farm said that the decision to cancel thousands of policies in California was 'not made lightly' and was only reached after 'careful analysis' of the company's financial health, 'which continues to be impacted by inflation, catastrophe exposure, reinsurance costs, and the limitations of working within decades-old insurance regulations.
