Es posible que su perfume, esmalte de uñas o tinte para el cabello favoritos deba someterse a un cambio de imagen para 2027 si contiene uno de los 26 ingredientes potencialmente tóxicos que ahora están prohibidos en California.
Se cree que los dos primeros aumentan el riesgo de cáncer, mientras que lilial puede reducir la fertilidad, según la Agencia Europea de Productos Químicos, que implementa la regulación de productos químicos de la UE. Cinco de los 26 ingredientes también están en la lista de sustancias químicas de California que se ha demostrado que causan cáncer, defectos de nacimiento u otros daños reproductivos.
Newsom también acaba de firmar otra ley que sienta un precedente que prohíbe la fabricación y venta de cuatro aditivos alimentarios que se encuentran en algunos refrescos, dulces y otros alimentos procesados porque están relacionados con problemas de salud. Los aditivos también están prohibidos en la UE.
Las ventas minoristas mundiales de fragancias, maquillaje, productos para el cuidado del cabello y de la piel superaron los 400,000 millones de dólares en 2022, según un análisis de McKinsey and Co.
