YAVAPAI COUNTY, Ariz. — A California man has been sentenced to 46 years in prison for sexually assaulting a 14-year-old girl in Chino Valley.
Bacilio Borquez, 40, of Vsalia, California, was sentenced last month according to the Yavapai County Attorney's office. After the assault, Borquez left Arizona and returned to California. Following the Chino Valley Police Department's investigation, he was extradited back to Yavapai County where a DNA sample was obtained.
The jury found Borquez guilty of sexual conduct with a minor and sexual assault on Sept. 7, 2023. He was sentenced on Oct. 30. “Crimes such as this have no place in Yavapai County. My office and our law enforcement partners will relentlessly pursue those who target and abuse children. Our community must stand together to protect our children. I encourage anyone who believes that a child is being abused to report their suspicions,” County Attorney Dennis McGraine said of the case.
