The Chicago Bears have the Steph Curry of the quarterback position, according to a two-time Super Bowl champion.
The Chicago Bears packed their bags after a loss against the Los Angeles Rams in the NFL Playoffs. The loss was a tough pill to swallow, but there is nothing but optimism in Chicago, Illinois, moving forward simply because Caleb Williams made a statement throughout the regular season and the playoffs.
One NFL analyst went as far as calling Williams the Steph Curry of the quarterback position. “It was a difficult, emotional loss for the Chicago Bears, who have watched them the entire season, but you got a quarterback! You got a quarterback who is unbelievable,” former Super Bowl champion Bryant McFadden said. There is no bad attempt for Caleb, because he can make any throw that you can imagine!” Steph Curry doesn’t need much of an introduction. The Golden State Warriors star has been a prominent player in the NBA, changing the game with his fearless shooting from all ranges of the court and being automatic at times. Curry simply wows spectators nightly, and Williams managed to do that weekly this season. A Tale of Two Seasons The Bears saw a lot of promise in Williams last year, despite posting a lousy 5-12 record. As a rookie, Williams threw for 3,541 yards, 20 touchdowns, and six interceptions. During his sophomore effort, Williams had a slightly lower completion percentage, but tossed for 3,942 yards, 27 touchdowns, and seven interceptions. The Bears went 11-6 this season, and Williams led the league in fourth-quarter comebacks with six total. In the playoffs, Williams threw for 61 yards, four touchdowns, and five interceptions. It wasn’t perfect, but he put together some gritty performances throughout his first playoff run. The Bears will look ahead to year three with Williams, expecting to be one of the top contenders in the NFC once again.
