The activist and former Olympian, 70, took the stage at the Women’s March in Los Angeles on Saturday and declared her desire to change the direction the country is taking.
Jenner used her time in front of the crowd to make a plea for the safety of transgender women of color. According to the HRC Foundation, at least 22 transgender people and gender non-conforming people were killed in 2019, and all but one were black. Though she supported President Donald Trump in the 2016 election, Jenner has since said she was wrong to advocate for him, based on his treatment of transgender people.
