Fox News contributor Caitlyn Jenner believes the recent wildfire response in California will lead to a change in political thinking, predicting a continued swing towards the Republican party. Jenner, a long-time California resident, cited the state's handling of the wildfires and its outdated water infrastructure as reasons for the predicted shift.

Long-time California resident and Fox News contributor Caitlyn Jenner predicts a shift in political thinking across the state following the handling of recent wildfires that continue to impact parts of Los Angeles County. Jenner, who has lived in California since 1973, reminisced about her first encounter with the state's iconic 'Welcome to California, the Golden State' sign on Highway 82.

'Boy, have I seen this state decline over the years,' she stated on 'The Story,' arguing that California's political leadership is responsible for its downfall. 'We're not gold, we're not silver, we're not bronze. We don't even make the finals anymore,' she lamented. Jenner, who campaigned in the 2021 Republican recall election against Governor Gavin Newsom, believes the details surrounding the state's inadequate preparation for the wildfires will expose California's vulnerabilities. 'Light is good because it's a disinfectant,' she said, comparing politicians' responses to problems to a game of 'whack-a-mole.' 'You know that game when you play, when you have the mole and you have the board in front of you and the head pops up, you got a hammer, and you bang it down? And then another one comes up over here, and you bang it down,' she explained. 'That's what they do,' Jenner asserted. 'Soon as the problem comes up, then they try to do what they can do to fix it. Instead of being on the offensive a year before the fires.'Jenner criticized Newsom's handling of the wildfires, stating that she has personally experienced the destruction caused by several fires over the years. 'This is devastating stuff. And they're not on the offense,' she said, acknowledging the role of powerful winds in exacerbating the damage. Beyond the unusual weather conditions, Jenner pointed to California's outdated water infrastructure as a contributing factor. 'Certainly in the 60s, we had the California aqueduct come through. The greatest project in history water in California. Since then, we've been run by liberal Democrats and we just get less and less,' she lamented. Jenner believes that California's political landscape will continue to shift towards the Republican party after the mismanagement of the L.A. wildfires and President-elect Donald Trump's victory. 'What did to this state, if you looked at over the last few elections, the amount of blue which was on our state, it was half the state. Now it's about a third,' she stated, explaining that most of California's remaining Democratic strongholds are located in major metropolitan areas like San Francisco, Los Angeles, and San Diego. Jenner expressed hope that Californians will reconsider their political allegiances in light of these events, stating, 'I hope the people of California can really change their thinking. And I think what's happening this fire is going to change their thinking. It's things like this that have to happen.' She added, 'They control the money. They control the votes. They control the unions. And to me, the whole state is like a big scam.
