The Chicago Bears are engaged in a tight battle at Soldier Field, but Cairo Santos has continued to write his name in the team’s record books.

CHICAGO, IL – JANUARY 10: Cairo Santos #8 of the Chicago Bears kicks for a field goal during an NFC Wild Card Playoff game against the Green Bay Packers at Soldier Field on January 10, 2026 in Chicago, Illinois.

The Chicago Bears are engaged in a tight battle at Soldier Field, but Cairo Santos has continued to write his name in the team’s record books. Santos, who made all three field goals he attempted in last week’s win over the Green Bay Packers, was called upon to attempt a 48-yard field goal in the late stages of the second quarter against the Los Angeles Rams. His 51-yard field goal last week against the Packers was the longest in Bears postseason history, and the 48-yarder on Sunday is now the third-longest, according to Pro Football Reference’s Stathead tool. The second-longest field goal in Bears history was hit in the 2007 NFC Divisional Round by Robbie Gould, who banged through a 49-yard field goal to capture the 27-24 victory in overtime. Unfortunately for the Bears, the Rams matched that field goal as the clock expired in the second quarter, tying things up at 10-10.
