'Priscilla' actress Cailee Spaeny tells PEOPLE about her transformation to become Priscilla Presley for the Sofia Coppola film, from the 'heavy' wigs to moving like a 'doll'

The makeover helped Spaeny get into character, she says. “When you walk into a set and you’re wearing those kinds of costumes, a lot of the work done for you. It’s a gift.”Some of the wigs were “heavy,” Spaeny admits. “Every time I got into a car, even though they told me, ‘Watch your head,’ you have to be aware of the physical space around you in a different way,” she says. “That was actually really fun.
When Spaeny was getting ready to film that family scene, she recalls it was getting late. “We were losing light that day,” she says, “and it was a moment where producers had to come in and say, ‘Put the brushes down. We have to go.’”The actress also had the opportunity to spend time with Priscilla herself, now 78, to watch and master her mannerisms and movements.
