INCHEON: South Korean police have launched an investigation after a live bullet was found inside the hand luggage of a Korean Air flight attendant during a baggage inspection at Incheon International Airport.

PUTRAJAYA: The Cabinet has approved the proposed amendments to the Personal Data Protection Act 2010 , and they are expected to be tabled in the current Parliament session, says Gobind Singh Deo .

Gobind highlighted that key proposals for amending Act 709 include mandatory notification of personal data breaches, additional compliance responsibilities for data processors, and the appointment of Data Protection Officers. He noted that statistics show a 5.1% increase in the number of complaints received from October 2023 to March 2024.

"Specifically, the statistics for personal data breaches show a significant increase of 41% in 2024 compared to 2023," he said.
