According to CAAP, a total of seven NOTAMs or notices to airmen were sent in the area, declaring it as a no-fly zone.
CAAP also explained that it ensures all pilots and aircraft operators are briefed by its Air Traffic Service before flight plans are accepted, especially involving no-fly zones. This year’s Balikatan – which began on April 21 and would end on 28 – is the biggest ever so far, joined by 17,600 troops from the United States and the Philippines., which will serve as a mock enemy ship, in the contested waters of the West Philippine Sea off the town of San Antonio in Zambales province.INQUIRER.net wants to hear from you!
