INDIANAPOLIS — C.J. Stroud knew his strengths. He also knew what he needed to prove. The Ohio State quarterback, the premier prospect battling Alabama’s Bryce Young to become the first passer taken in the NFL draft, said he believes he’s been the best player in college football the last two years. He exuded confidence with a clear undertone that he believes he ought to be the No. 1 overall pick in April, a topic that will twist and morph amidst weeks of speculation.
Few, if any, NFL executives, coaches or scouts will expect Stroud to drop down and give them 10 when he throws in combine drills on Saturday.
