The “Hello Kitty murder" case, which is not for the faint of heart…or for fans of the adorable cartoon character. In 1999, a 23-year-old nightclub hostess named Fan Man-yee was abducted in Hong Kong by three men after a dispute involving money. She was held captive in an apartment for several weeks, during which she was repeatedly beaten, sexually assaulted, and burned, ultimately dying from traumatic shock caused by the prolonged abuse. The case became known by its disturbingly ironic name because the perpetrators attempted to conceal the victim’s remains inside a Hello Kitty stuffed doll. It only came to light after a 14-year-old girl connected to the group, who had been groomed by one of the men, went to the police.“Moscow has a cult-like church with thousands of followers. Their leader, a self-ordained pastor, has publicly stated he wants to take over the town and turn it into a theocracy. They are deeply misogynistic and have a history of sexual abuse within their group. Their members keep running for local office and failing, but they are buying up all the property in town and moving in people from all over the country to attend their private school, theology ‘college,' and church. Moscow also happens to be the town where the four University of Idaho students were murdered in 2022."in Moscow, Idaho, led by Doug Wilson, is controversial because it promotes rigid conservative beliefs and has built an insular network of schools and institutions that critics and former members say exerts cult-like social control over the town.Unrelated to the church controversies, in November 2022, four University of Idaho students were fatally stabbed in an off-campus house in Moscow, Idaho. Usually caused by brain injury, stroke, or surgery, the condition leaves patients fully aware of what’s happening and unable to stop it.
