“Trump was asked about Vance and his answer was it doesn’t matter that much to the outcome who you pick for VP,” Buttigieg said, “which means it did not occur to him to even pretend to be interested in the impact of the vice presidential choice on the country.” Vance has received a torrent of animosity since he became Trump’s running mate, with many on the left branding him “weird.” Old clips have also resurfaced that Democrats have used to brand Vance as anti-woman. In a 2021 interview, he said “childless cat ladies” who work for the Biden administration, mentioning Harris in particular, are running the country.
