Thousands braved the strong winds and packed Big Apple streets to celebrate the 99th Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade. The balloons were noticeably held lower than usual to stave off strong gusts, but the holiday cheer was still in order for the exhilarated revelers -- who raved when the iconic Tom the Turkey float kicked off the parade.
, Busta Rhymes performed while on the “World of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Chocolate Factory” float designed by Nickelodeon and Paramount. The iconic rapper and producer, 53, sang and danced along giant ninja turtles on the platform.

Along with Busta Rhymes and Lil Jon, the festivities also featured performances from Cynthia Erivo, Ciara, Mickey Guyton and Debbie Gibson. This isn’t the first time performers have come under fire for lip-synching, but, it is normal for them to do so during the Turkey Day parade.In 2018, after fans called out Rita Ora for lip-synching on her float at the parade, John Legend explained why. “Fun fact. We all have to lip sync on this parade because the floats don’t have the capacity to handle the sound requirements for a live performance. Hope y’all enjoyed it anyway,”Ora, 35, posted to her own social media, echoing her fellow performer’s sentiments. “Fun fact @johnlegend thank you for clarifying what I was about to also tweet,” she wrote at the time. “It’s annoying for us but anyway! All my shows are 100 percent live always have been! When you come to a ORA show get ready! Back to holidays!
