He suggested that the new government formulate business-friendly policies to attract, particularly local investors to invest in the domestic market.He felt that the 2020 Economic Stimulus Package announced by former prime minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad was a mere extension of Budget 2020. Meanwhile, Federation of Malaysian Manufacturers president Datuk Soh Thian Lai urged the new government to implement, without delay, the RM20 billion economic stimulus package meant to mitigate the adverse impact of Covid-19.
Meanwhile, Malaysian Employers Federation executive director Datuk Shamsuddin Bardan said the new government should carry on with the implementation of the economic stimulus package but it needs to be tweaked and expanded as the Covid-19 crisis had affected not only the tourism industry, but other sectors.
