Multiple business associations on Thursday called on Congress to pass a continuing resolution in order to re-open the government.

. “While exact figures vary, public estimates of the current funding lapse suggest $10 billion–$15 billion per week in lost output and economic activity.”Some of the business associations that made the statement include the American Bankers Association, the National Association of Manufacturers, Airlines for America and the U.S. Travel Association. “We urge Congress to swiftly pass a clean continuing resolution to reopen the federal government,” the statement continues. “Immediately reopening the government would avert further economic disruption and give Congress and the Administration time to negotiate a longer-term funding package and address other pressing issues.” The statement also says that the longer the shutdown continues, infrastructure projects will be delayed. The business associations also stated clearly that the air traffic controllers are growing more and more stressed.
