A 67-year-old Victorian man who went missing while bushwalking in a remote area of Western Australia on Tuesday has been found.

The man was sighted by rescue crews on Friday morning following a painstaking search operation that stretched from Packsaddle Springs to the Dunham River.

Police said he"went off exploring and traversing some rough terrain to see some waterfalls" and was last seen about 2:15pm at the"top of a waterfall". Four officers including a drone operator were dispatched to the area but the search was suspended on Wednesday night with no sight of the bushwalker. "The police drone was utilised to search areas not accessible by foot. The helicopter was used to scan the rugged terrain during daylight areas."

Police have since reminded bushwalkers to always have a personal locator beacon and said it was crucial to"have a plan if the unthinkable happens and you become lost".
