Bursa Malaysia snaps 6-day rally to close lower on profit-taking FMTNews FMTBusiness
KUALA LUMPUR: Bursa Malaysia snapped a six-day rally to end lower today on profit-taking activities.The market bellwether opened 3.06 points lower at 1,448.21 this morning and moved between 1,446.46 and 1,454.24 throughout the day.
“Foreign funds are likely to keep buying in the region, given the attractive valuations of the regional markets and the expectation of better economic growth.Among the heavyweights, Public Bank added 3 sen to RM4.14, Petronas Chemicals gained 4 sen to RM6.85, Maybank and CIMB were all flat at RM8.99 and RM5.50 respectively, while Tenaga Nasional slid 3 sen to RM9.57.
Sector-wise, the financial services index advanced 14.93 points to 16,179.81 and the industrial products and services index inched up 0.41 of-a-point to 167.51, while the plantation index fell 55.44 points to 7,150.11, and the energy index shed 3.99 points to 832.70.
