No one was injured in the incident, but police are now asking for help finding two potentially armed and dangerous suspects.Rolando Rodriguez says “stuff like this” doesn’t happen in Burnet . Rodriguez has lived a good portion of his life in the town – including moving back two years ago. He says it’s a good place to live.
According to the Burnet County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to the church, located on N US 281 this morning for a welfare check. When they arrived, they say they learned shots had been fired by a member of the volunteer safety team. The sheriff’s office says the safety team member confronted two suspicious male suspects, one of who had a rifle, outside the church. The safety team member fired multiple rounds, according to the sheriff’s office, causing the suspects to flee.“I mean what would’ve happened if the security guard wasn’t there? It could’ve been bad for everybody in the church,” he said.The suspects fled in a white minivan and police are now searching for the two men. They are believed to be armed and dangerous.
