More mass layoffs, this time unfortunately for Bungie.
Bungie has just officially announced a mass layoff affecting its staff, with 220 roles eliminated. It says this is roughly “17% of studio’s workforce.” The announcement was posted on Bungie’s website, with CEO Pete Parsons heralding it. Today is a difficult and painful day, especially for our departing colleagues, all of which have made important and valuable contributions to Bungie. Our goal is to support them with the utmost care and respect.
Bungie It seems as though Bungie will make “substantial changes to cost structure and focus development efforts entirely on Destiny and Marathon.” Bungie has also said “roughly 12%” of staff have been integrated into SIE who acquired Bungie in 2022.
