The Chicago Bulls have the No. 7 pick in the 2019 NBA Draft, but they could wind up moving it for a veteran player like Mike Conley.
, but that seems more unlikely after the lottery. The New Orleans Pelicans bucked the odds and won the No. 1 pick, which means Zion will be heading to New Orleans. Anthony Davis reportedly still wants to be traded, but the Pelicans will likely want to pair Holiday and Williamson together for at least a little while. While it would still be worth checking in on Holiday's availability, acquiring him is a long shot.
The Utah Jazz, Detroit Pistons and Indiana Pacers pursued Conley prior to the trade deadline, and they'll likely go after him again. There will be other competition for Conley's services as well, but the Bulls can put together an enticing offer with this No. 7 pick as a centerpiece.Conley is still a terrific player who just averaged 21.1 points, 6.4 assists and 3.4 rebounds in 70 games this season. He shot 43.8% from the field and 36.4% on 3-pointers, and he's a career 37.
Conley is also set to make $32,511,624 next season before a $34,502,132 early termination option in 2020-21. Given his age, he's almost certainly going to take that money and not opt out. That's a ton of money for an aging point guard in general, and the Bulls are also set to have Otto Porter Jr. making over $28 million that season.
