Ayo Dosunmu was one of 12 rookies selected to the Rising Stars challenge at All-Star weekend, and garnered some high praise from his peers before the exhibition.
NBC Sports Chicago surveyed multiple participants in the Rising Stars challenge on Friday to get their impressions of Dosunmu:Maxey and Dosunmu go way back. The Philadelphia guard said they first crossed paths on the AAU circuit when Dosunmu was a sophomore in high school and Maxey was a freshman.
Maxey cited multiple near-triple-double outings from Dosunmu's rookie season, and four double-digit-assist games, as examples of him affecting winning early in career. Having logged 15.3 minutes per night for the top-seeded 76ers in 2020-21, and started 50 games so far this season, Maxey knows well how difficult that can be."The competitive nature. That's what's carried on," Maxey said.
And when Giddey was asked to describe the experience of being guarded by the Bulls rookie, he could only laugh. "Everybody's journey is different," Suggs said."He didn't allow that to detour him or put him down. He took it for what it was, came to Chicago and is doing great work.
