Canadian firm introduces 'Plaex-crete,' recycled plastic bricks that are lightweight, durable, and eco-friendly.
A Canada-based sustainable startup, PLAEX Building Systems Inc., has created recycled plastic bricks. Named “Plaex-crete,” these blocks are lightweight, durable, and eco-friendly.The brick’s appearance and texture closely resemble those of concrete. Moreover, it does not suffer from common issues seen in traditional concrete, such as water absorption, decomposition, splitting, and cracking.
Plastics are sourced from partners engaged in extended producer responsibility initiatives. These plastics are primarily obtained from farm and agricultural waste.
