The Buffalo Bills have acquired wide receiver Amari Cooper from the Cleveland Browns in exchange for a third-round pick, the teams announced Tuesday. The Browns will also receive a seventh-round pick in 2026, while the Bills acquire a sixth-round pick in 2025 in addition to Cooper. In six games so far this season, Cooper has 24 catches for 250 yards and two touchdowns. Cooper’s 10.4 yards per catch average is the lowest of his career.
They have three pass catchers with over 200 yards, but nobody on pace for 1,000 for the season. Two of Buffalo’s top four players in receiving yards are a tight end and a running back. The Browns are 1-5 and have lost four straight games. Their quarterback, Deshaun Watson, is ranked last among all qualifying players in quarterback rating. Cooper, 30, is a five-time Pro Bowl selection, most recently last season. In 2023, he set a career high in receiving with 1,250 yards.
