A leader of the Senate on Monday assured that the P5.268-trillion national budget for next year will sustain the positive momentum of the growth of the Philippine economy.
For the medium and long term, Villanueva said that the government should focus on food security by supporting the agriculture sector. The senator also said that the country’s September unemployment rate at 5 percent, which is the lowest in more than two years, not only sparks more confidence for investors and businesses but also shows that the current administration’s economic strategy is already taking effect.
Manhit said the previous government left fiscal challenges that the current administration needs to address.
